There is a range of service options that exist to assist people achieve this. However, should there come a time that care in a residential facility is required, there is a number of services available at that level as well.

Your Carer
The Australian Government has lauched the Carer Gateway which is is a national online and phone service that provides practical information and resources to support carers. The interactive service finder helps carers connect to local support services.

Veterans' Services
The Department of Veterans Affairs provides a variety of in-home and community support programmes that focus on assisting veteran's to continue living independently.

Mental Health and Private Services
The focus of Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS) in South Australia is to support older people to maximise their mental health. This is achieved through working with the community, ageing and primary health care sectors to prevent or reduce the incidence and/or escalation of mental health issues.

Government Funded Services
The Australian Government has launched My Aged Care which is is a national online and phone service that provides practical information and resources to support older people. The interactive service finder helps carers connect to local support services. This is the new "Gateway" to Aged care services.

Health Services
